DLP HDTV – or The Material Girl

We finally did it. Okay – so it was after a couple glasses of wine, but what’s your point. And before you start thinking I mean we “did it” in the biblical sense (that’s another post), I simple mean we finally purchased that TV we’ve been coveting (definition #2, to wish for longingly). You’ll soon discover that we are famous for mulling over ideas, future purchases, life decisions – then, just like that – we do it. Same thing happened when we went to Vancouver and got married. Again, another post (maybe I do have material to work with).

About the TV. Samsung. 46″ DLP HDTV. Black. New slim design. And luscious.

We did get a good deal. No laughing. It will not be in stock until Tuesday so that’s a little let down after we raced over, half sloshed, to get one. Now we have to upgrade to digital cable and hd technology – got a three month deal on that too – and find a stand. I’ll feel really stupid when the “home theater specialists” come over to hook us up and the sexy TV is on the same stand our current 14 year Mitsubishi calls home.

Looks like we’ll be shopping this weekend. And I’m all out of wine. Oh. Did I mention we also added the Bose 3.2.1 GS Series IIĀ  Home Theater System as well? Duh. What’s a great picture without great sound?

*Todays question:

What is the first movie we should watch? ( I can tell you the first sporting event we will watch are my beloved Gamecocks in whichever bowl game they land.)

  1. Came from Blue Gal’s because she told us to. And I dont disobey her. She scares me.

Anyway, I am more intrigued with the remarriage thing. I want to do that since we just got married one day at a JOP near a gas station then went out for pizza… seems that we could have added …a touch of festivity?

  2. Thanks for stopping by – and Blue Gal scares me too – but just a little bit! As for the marriage thing – ours was the first marriage as we had one of them thar’ same-sex ceremonies (but, I will be posting on it in the future). But, in any event, I highly recommend Vancouver. I think we will try to go back for the 2010 Winter Olympics.

now all you need is a cell phone to join the rest of the technologically advanced community. and you THOUGHT you were civilized! oh, it only gets better. do you have an ipod… no, this is not a mechanism for space-age transportation… you can actually play music and movies on it. and it is almost as small as a credit card!

smart ass??? nahhhh :) but you started it.

  4. Hmmm. First movie. To do justice to a system like that, it needs to be something with big action scenes and really good music. Sounds like time to pull out the Buffy DVDs. :)

    Enjoy!

… a Blue Gal groupie! I’ve been coveting DLP HDTV for a while now myself. Let us know how you like this one. I always like to read a good review before taking the plunge.
